CWB to support Keere Cricket Academy
Keere Cricket Academy in Kumi, Uganda continues to grow as a vibrant community cricket hub, with recent support from Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) helping to accelerate this progress. Regular coaching visits over the past month have increased awareness and participation, particularly among girls, who remain central to the academy’s development approach. Continued funding will allow this momentum to translate into lasting impact for children and families in the Keere community.
CWB’s support will enable the academy to expand outreach to more schools and community groups, improve access to equipment and facilities, and offer consistent, high-quality coaching. A strong focus will remain on inclusion, with targeted programmes to increase girls’ participation, support vulnerable children, and develop local coaches to ensure long-term sustainability.
Over the next 12 months, Keere Cricket Academy plans to introduce school-based mini-cricket competitions, structured hardball cricket in secondary schools, girls-only development sessions, and youth leadership pathways for aspiring coaches. Cricket activities will also be used as platforms to raise awareness around education, health, gender equality and other key social issues. With CWB as a vital partner, the academy is committed to growing both the game and positive social change through cricket.
