Maiden Cricket
Generous donation for CWB’s women and girls empowerment work
Twenty cricket sets – including bats, balls and stumps – have been donated by Maiden Cricket for Cricket Without Boundaries’ work in delivering health and social messages including gender equality, women and girls empowerment, and promoting HIV and FGM awareness.
Maiden Cricket are a new company focussed on providing cricket equipment specifically for women and girls. This donation will be first used in our forthcoming training Rwanda, but will also be used in the UK, Jordan and across Africa.
Andy Tyson, Founder and Director of Maiden Cricket, said:
“We are donating our kits as the fantastic work that Cricket Without Boundaries does in empowering the lives of girls throughout its areas of coverage, resonates deeply with Maiden’s aim to give women and girls their own identity within cricket.
“We hope that by playing with our kits, it will enhance the great work that has so far been achieved.
“We believe that girls getting involved with sport boosts confidence, gives them a safe circle to feel comfortable, and be themselves, without prejudice.”
