What a great series of projects we have seen this spring at Cricket Without Boundaries. Having not long set foot into the charity myself, I was fortunate enough to head out to Rwanda and Kenya to be a part of our teams of volunteers and to see first-hand the hugely positive impact we can have on people through Cricket.

I was bowled over by the energy and excitement in each and every group of children we met - so eager to learn about a new sport (often the first time they have ever seen the game) or to develop what they have already learned on a previous CWB training session. Just as

energetic were our fantastic project volunteers, so I will take this opportunity to express my huge thanks and admiration to every one of you who gave up your time to be a big part of what we do.

As well as the inspiration I have drawn from those weeks in Africa, I also learnt that you really don’t need to be a skilled cricketer to volunteer with us. Indeed, as many of those who were volunteering with me will testify, I am a different kind of ‘all-rounder’ – being equally terrible at bowling and batting! But this is not the point of Cricket Without Boundaries. If you have the enthusiasm to put over a powerful message about HIV/AIDS, a passion to promote fun through learning and a desire to break down the stigma attached to this illness, then you will be an excellent addition to the team! I would also like to take the opportunity to introduce you to our new team of volunteer fundraisers, joining our head of fundraising, Andrew Ryan.

Georgina Turner, is a fantastic individual giving, major donor and direct mail fundraiser, who works for the Tibet Relief Fund and formerly for the Green Party. Richard Granville heads up the Grants and Trusts team at the Anthony Nolan Trust, and previously in the same field with the Ramblers. Liam Burnell has been on projects with Cricket Without Boundaries and on each occasion has smashed his personal fundraising targets. He has shown great initiative in developing ways to raise cash quickly and provides us with insight into fundraising as a project volunteer. Liam also supports the fundraising work of his local cricket club again providing us useful insight into fundraising at the grass roots level. Gopal Iyer works as a management consultant and has a number of years’ experience working with companies of varying sizes. He also has an extensive network of contacts working in the corporate sector and we aim to translate these relationships into effective corporate relations in support of our work. - David Murray CEO Cricket Without Boundaries`
