Howzat for a wedding!
Cricket mad Rob and Lucy Rowe didn’t want to give their guests the usual wedding favours, but did want to make a difference, so they donated what they would have spent on them to CWB… and even managed to squeeze in a quick game of cricket in between the speeches!
The 70 guests at their wedding all received flyers and stickers providing information on how the donated “favour” money would be making a difference to thousands of children in Africa.
Added to that, on discovering the cricket theme to the wedding presents, the couples’ florist declared himself a fellow cricket lover and took some leaflets to distribute to his clients.
Proud groom Rob picks up the story; ‘I wanted to do charity wedding favours rather than the usual gifts, so as a keen cricketer and sportsman I wanted to find a charity that meant something to me.’
‘We had a wonderful day and as you can see by the photos even getting married didn't stop us from playing cricket!’
CWB charity executive Hannah Weaver said; ‘It was fantastic that Rob and Lucy thought of us on their special day! The money will make a huge impact on the lives of people who have next to nothing and we can’t thank them enough!
