Opening Up
It’s been really busy since the start of the year with CWB growing from strength to strength as one of the leading Cricket Development and AIDS awareness charities run entirely by volunteers.
We have had projects in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, coaching over 2,000 kids and training hundreds of new coaches. We have also been able to leave behind not just our usual AIDS awareness T-Shirts and Kwik cricket equipment, but also big numbers of hardball kit. Thanks also to the generosity of Tildent we have been able to donate a mobile cricket net to be used by the Rwandan national team: which would would like to think played a big part in recently qualifying for a tournament in South Africa.
We have also been slowly building our presence in the international media with articles and features in BBC World on the Massai warriors we have been coaching as well as in Al Jazerra.
For the first time in the autumn we will be sending 4 projects out to Africa with a view of sending 5 in Spring 2012.
If any of you would like to get involved in our autumn projects, or spring next year, please do get in involved! Or if you know others who would like to get involved or would simply like to hear about our work please do pass this newsletter on.
We couldn't do any of this without your support so please do stay in touch.
Andy, Chris and Ed (the CWB trustees).
